Exciting from start to finish!
Real Madrid and Manchester City promised and delivered. It was a great game this Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu, with two comebacks and great goals, and ended 3-3.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the first minute, with a free kick. Real turned things around in the first half, with goals from Rúben Dias (own goal) and Rodrygo.
Foden and Gvardiol scored in the middle of the second half, but Valverde equalized again with a great goal, in the 32nd minute. Everything was the same in the first game of this Champions League quarter-final clash.
Vini Jr and Rodrygo
Rodrygo reached six goals for Real Madrid in the knockout stages of the Champions League (and 19 in all stages). All of them against English teams (and three against Manchester City).
With today's two assists, Vinicius Junior reached 16 goal contributions against English teams in the Champions League. Seven goals of his own plus nine assists, all in the knockout stage.
It was missed by City
Last-minute and major absence: De Bruyne felt ill moments before the game and could not be selected by Guardiola. According to the coach, the midfielder was ready, but started vomiting when he arrived in the dressing room.
Possible embezzlement
Foden scored a great goal from outside the box. In fact, he is the Premier League player with the most goals this season (six in total). His performance today earned him the UEFA man of the match award. But he ended up getting injured in the second half and had to be replaced. Seeing if there is a risk of losing the second leg against Real Madrid.
